Overcoming Unbelief

By Nina Roach

“Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!” —Mark 9:24

I want to let you know today that you are not alone with not believing in the promises of God. It is hard sometimes to take God at His Word. I too struggle many times with trusting God. And it is very liberating to write this sentence.

Struggling to believe doesn’t diminish my love for God or stop Him from moving on my behalf. It just takes me a little longer than others to get past a lot of the ungodly beliefs. My soul needs a lot of shepherding and attention that only the Holy Spirit can attend to gently.

So whenever you see me on display through writing weekly devotionals, holding a mic to speak, or collaborating with others, know that it wasn’t easy as others would like to think. It took for me personally quite a bit of time to convince my soul that God’s Word is true.

I convince my soul a couple of ways. I say what God has already said about me and or my situation through the iDecree daily declaration of faith and take 15 minutes or more to Journey through the Word. Join me if you are struggling with unbelief. God understands and has given us the way to overcome through His Word.

Do What God Last Told You

By Nina Roach

We humans make plans, but the Lord has the final word. —Proverbs 16:1

"Do what I last told you to do," were the words that the Spirit of the Lord reminded me to do. I recalled that He last told me to write everything that He would give me in a book. The response that I heard was not the one that I thought He would give me as I was inquiring about some personal situations in my life.

When we are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His ways, His answers may not include the responses that we desire. Nevertheless, we can continue to go about our lives just as if He never spoke or respond to His answer.

What has God last told you to do? You may need to go back and even ask Him to remind you. There is no need to keep asking Him to give you a new word when you haven't responded to His last Word. I challenge you this week to seek first God’s presence and take action on what He reveals to you. You will be amazed at what He may show you next. Not Sure, Trust God

By Nina Roach

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. —Proverbs 3:5

Most times, I have immediate clarity regarding situations that I am unsure of. Currently, I am in a fog situation that has me at a standstill. Though it appears that everything is at a pause, I have not paused my trust in God. Instead, I have encouraged myself to be strong in the Lord as He increases my faith in Him.

Instead of carrying the cares about how things will turn out, I am focusing my attention on who will work things out together for my good. I am choosing to rejoice in the Lord, as I reflect upon His faithful track record and rest in the truth that my times are in His hands.

Is God calling you today to rejoice always in Him, reflect upon His faithfulness, or to abide in His rest? He cares about you and He will perfect the things that concern you. Be encouraged this week by abiding in the presence of the Holy Spirit and join me in the iDecree daily declaration of faith and take 15 minutes to journey through God’s Word. Replacing Old Thought Patterns

By Nina Roach

Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. —Romans 12:2

Internalizing my responsibilities and future opportunities were creating racing anxious thoughts. I was quite bothered by my moodiness and at times overwhelmed. As I began to express my thoughts to the Lord, He inquired what I had been thinking about lately. He pinned it for me!

At that moment, I could see that my mood changes were following old thought patterns that needed to be replaced and renewed. The Spirit of God encouraged me to recite my concerns to Him and replace each of them with His thoughts. Thoughts of Him helping me and giving me hope and a good expected end.

My soul was quieted by His love and all that He revealed to me. I am continuing to meditate upon the promises of God that is transforming the way that I think so that I can remain in His rest. God has promised to give you hope and a great great expected end too.

If you have been facing overwhelming thoughts, examine what you have been thinking about and take the advice that I was given and experience God’s love and encouragement. To continue replacing your old thought patterns, join me this week in the iDecree daily declaration of faith and take 15 minutes to journey through God’s Word.
