Snippets from Philemon

Philemon is one of the shortest letters Apostle Paul wrote approximately A.D. 63 while imprisoned in Rome. Philemon was known to be a man who refreshed others in the Lord with his love and generosity. In Paul’s heart-felt letter to Philemon, he reminds him that all Christians are called to forgive and let go of their grudges with the help of God. He goes all out by begging Philemon to show mercy by forgiving and receiving Onesimus a runaway slave back as now a brother in Christ. Onesimus accepted God’s message of Christ under Paul’s teaching. I am confident as I write to you that you will do this. And I know that you will do even more than I ask. — Philemon 1:21
