It is Written

Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it’s written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next.

Jesus said, "It is written." He made it a point to say what His Father had said. This is how Jesus always got results by simply saying what was already written. And this is how we will see results too. Jesus didn't speak when he "felt"  like it, He spoke by His belief and faith that He had in God.

There were many times He had seen His Father do His work. God does His Work by speaking and the Holy Spirit does His work by manifesting God's Words in our lives. And Jesus? He does His Work by staying alert to see whatever the Father is doing and acting upon what He has seen and heard. In John 5:19 Jesus replied, "Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does."

Do you see the strategy that you can apply in your life too? Jesus Himself couldn't do anything apart from what He saw the Father doing and neither can we. He joined the Father in His work and so can you. Read the passage above again. Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Place your hope in God's Word today. The things in this world are passing away quickly and the grass and flowers are fading away, but the Word of our God will stand forever.

Decree It: I join my Heavenly Father in His work by saying what is written in His Word. All of my times, days and seasons are in His hands and care. I let the written Word of God dwell in me richly. His Word teaches me, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide I have hope.
