Stay in the Moment

Don’t brashly announce what you’re going to do tomorrow; you don’t know the first thing about tomorrow.
— Proverbs 27:1

Cherish yesterday and all the lessons you have learned.  Dream about tomorrow and all the good that it holds. But get the most of the moments you will experience today.

I remember years ago how the Holy Spirit revealed to me that it was important to stay in the moment.  In the moment I could enter into God’s rest and make my boast in the Lord who held my past, my present and my future.

Before I became a believer I was always bragging about all the things I was going to do tomorrow that never came to pass.  Like the Proverbs states above, I didn't know the first thing or have a clue about tomorrow.

Over the years I have learned to enjoy the moments of the day as I envision and receive the promises of God that were laid up for me. During those times, feelings of being overwhelmed dissipated in my life, and peace began to arise as I cast my cares upon the Lord.

Today, choose to stay in the moment and don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow has its own cares to deal with.

Decree It: My times are in God's hands.  I will make my boast in the Lord who holds my past, present, and future.  I choose not to concern myself about tomorrow, when I get there the Holy Spirit will be there and will never leave me nor forsake me. I receive His help today and the opportunities that are extending to me to stay in the moment.
