The Peace of Christ

Each one of you is part of the body of Christ, and you were chosen to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control your thoughts.
— Colossians 3:15

Daily we have to fight for the peace that Jesus left us with. The peace of Christ can be easily stolen if we do not guard our thoughts. The peace of Christ does not leave us in scattered pieces. The peace of Christ comes from God, it is a supernatural gift.

Let’s define the peace of Christ…

The peace of Christ first and foremost supernatural. It is a call from heaven to us and a position that we take to rule our thoughts. Not an emotion or thoughts of worry, cares, frustration, and despair. The peace of Christ are thoughts of victory. Thoughts of forgiveness, truth, righteousness, love, a good report, and virtue.

Thoughts of God!

We rule our thoughts by the thoughts of God. That’s what Christ did! He positioned Himself daily as He purposed in His heart to think on God’s thoughts. And we can do the same. Jesus always shows us the right way to go.

The more we think about God’s thoughts, the more we will experience Christ’s peace to rule our thoughts. All of the thoughts and promises of God to us are in Jesus—The Word of God.

Whatever you are going through today, think about how are you directing your thoughts to address the problem. How will you bring the peace of Christ to your situation? You can begin by locating God’s thoughts in His Word and let peace arise within you that comes from Christ to control any thoughts that are not in alignment with God’s purpose.

Decree It: Jesus is my Prince of Peace. Moment by moment, I will choose to dwell in peace with myself and with others. I will let the peace of Christ that surpasses my natural understanding rule my thoughts.
