Rebuild the Ruins

Then they will rebuild cities that have been in ruins for many generations.
— Isaiah 61:4

This is not the time to shrink back in fear. Now is the time that the Spirit of God is desiring for each of us to partner with Him to rebuild the ruins in the lives of others.

Imagine with me for a moment of what this image would be if we would rebuild the ruins together.

Isaiah 61 gives us a clear picture of the image of restoration as we allow the Spirit of the Lord to take control of us for His special purpose.

Here it is…

We have been anointed and appointed to bring good news to the poor; repair broken hearts, declare freedom to those who are held captive and bound in prison; announce the year of jubilee, the season of God’s favor. For all of our enemies it will be a day of God’s wrath and vengeance.

For those who mourn it will be a time of comfort. As for those who grieve God has sent us to care for their needs and bestow upon them beauty instead of ashes, anointing them with the oil of gladness instead of sorrow, to wrap them in victory, joy, and praise instead of depression and sadness.

People will call us ministers, priests and servants of the Lord, like great towering trees standing up for what is right. The treasures of the nations will belong to us, and we will be known for rebuilding the ruins. Many may have at one time called us disgraced and defiled and said that shame should be our share of things. Yet we suffered doubly and lived in disgrace; so now double will be our portion, and everlasting joy will be our forever.

Amen!

Decree It: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. The Lord has anointed and commissioned me to bring good news to the oppressed and rebuild the ruins of many generations. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
