For God's Glory

So then, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of [our great] God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

No matter what goals you want to accomplish, be sure to do them for God's glory. Paul addressed in his letter to the Corinthian church his concerns about their behavior that brought dishonor to God with their food and beverages that had been offered in sacrifice to idols.

He expounded in his address to them by writing "whatever you do" in your doings, your plans for your life and even your desires, let it be done in such a way that God is pleased and glorified. God is not glorified when idols are offered in His stead.

I know many times we are setting goals, reaching for new opportunities, counting points, and calories to maintain our physiques or to shed a few extra pounds. We must remember the reason behind it all is to bring God glory so that we have healthy bodies to complete the assignments He has given us in health.

So today instead of focusing on what you will eat or your beverage selections throughout the day remember the bigger picture that whatever you do, do it all for God's glory.

Before you move on to confess today's decree, think about the phrase "whatever you do, do all to the glory of our great God" and prayerfully consider making adjustments in those areas where God is not being glorified in your life. The Holy Spirit is near to help you. He loves you so much.

Decree It: In this moment, I thank you Father God for your steadfast love for me.  I choose You once again today. Jesus, You are Lord. Whatever I do throughout my day, I will make it a point to do all to the glory of my great God.
