Carry On

I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!
— John 14:12

Jesus is the head of His body, the church. As His body, we are to carry on with  His mission that He started and share His message. Christ left us with another Helper—the Holy Spirit, And I truly believe that we are not seeing the greater works that Jesus said that believers would do is because we aren't connecting our faith to the works that He did.

The same Holy Spirit that worked through Jesus and His disciples is also working through believers today. Jesus nor His disciples worked one miracle without the Holy Spirit. Before He left the earth, Jesus taught His followers to obey Him in all things, live in complete dependence on the Father that would dwell within them, and demonstrate His love.

The definition of belief is a persuasion of the truth, or an assent of the mind to the truth of a declaration, proposition or alleged fact, on the ground of evidence, distinct from personal knowledge trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something. Jesus states in John 14:11, "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me--or at least believe on account of the works themselves."

Believe on account of the works themselves...

In other words, Jesus is saying just in case you have any doubts and discrediting my verbal testimony about who I am, take a closer look again at the works that I have done on earth before my departure. It's time for us to connect the works of Christ with His words that will lead each of us to greater faith in Him and works through Him.

Decree It: Today I believe that God's Word is true. I am chosen to carry on the same work that Jesus was doing with the greater One living within me.. God didn't give me a spirit of fear, He gave me His spirit of power, love and a sound mind. I walk in power. I will walk by faith and carry on.
