What Wisdom Will Do

Happy [blessed, considered fortunate, to be admired] is the man who finds [skillful and godly] wisdom, And the man who gains understanding and insight [learning from God’s word and life’s experiences].
— Proverbs 3:13

Wisdom begins with respect for the Lord, and understanding begins with knowing the Holy One. Wisdom is having the ability to know the difference between what is right, wrong, lasting and true.

Any of us can be knowledgeable from information that we have received through all sorts of resources and people, but that does not make us wise. What makes each of us wise is when we appropriate the right actions or responses from all the knowledge that we have received internally or externally.

As believers, the word of God is where we receive the right and true knowledge about God, about ourselves and others, His expectations of us and His blessings.  The word of God is not a democracy, it is a decision that we choose to live by every day. When we keep God's instructions at the forefront of our hearts, He makes sure that our days are prolonged and we experience His peace and prosperity. Now that sounds like good news to me. Let today be the day that you decide to get both wisdom and understanding.

Decree It: I choose to get to know God and honor His instructions by applying them in my life. Because of the wisdom of God, I am satisfied with long life and my days are filled with His peace and prosperity.
