Words of Encouragement

God's Promises for Problems

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident.
— 2 Corinthians 1:20

The promises of God were already in place in Christ Jesus before our problems every showed up in our lives. God goes to the core of His character to prove His faithfulness to us. That's why you and I can say, "no problem." We must always remember and be thoroughly convinced that no matter what we encounter, the promises of God has preceded our situations. God always refreshes us with His promises.

The key for us is to know what God's promises are and to believe in them to the point that our actions and our words demonstrate our beliefs. God has promises in place to love us through our unloveliness, heal us when we're not well, deliver and set us free when we're bound, and make us holy when we feel unclean. He will forgive our sins and remember them no more. God will protect our families and us when troubles arise. And still there are even more promises concerning our future, justice, eternity, finances, peace for our minds and our nation and I could go on and on. These promises are here for us.

You may be asking yourself, "Well how do I activate these promises?"

Keep reading, and I will share with you what I've done, and others have done as well to activate the promises of God. Though the promises of God are available to us, they don't fall from on high into our situations just because God sees our difficulties from above. Since the promises of God are in Jesus Christ who carries out and fulfills them all, we must start with Him. Romans 10:9 tells us: “If we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.”  So the promises of God are activated by confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts.

When we confess the Word of God, we are saying that we agree with what is written. We agree with what we have heard from the Word of God. Job 22:28 tells us: “to decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for us, And the light of God’s favor will shine upon our ways.” God requires us to decree a thing, as these decrees come with the great fulfillment of His promises. We are not making wishes, crossing our fingers and begging and hoping they will come true. God isn't a Genie! God has stated that when we make our decisions about His promises and decrees, they will be established.

When we decree things according to the Word of God, we are imitators of Him according to Ephesians 5:1. God's Word has creative power, and that is how He created everything good that exists. His creative power is still active on the earth and every area of our lives. So arise today and every day and speak to the problems and situations in your life that need to hear from the Lord. Speak the promises of God and not your problems. Every time you declare the promises of God you activate them and God establishes them in your life. Let's activate the promises of God by imitating Him.

Decree It:  I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Lord. I am now qualified for all the promises of God that Jesus carried out and fulfilled for me. I confess that God loves me, I am not alone as He will never leave me nor forsake me. I am forgiven for all of my sins, healed of every germ, virus, and disease that touches my body. I am redeemed from destruction. I have the favor of God upon me, and I am crowned with God's loving-kindness and tender mercies. My years and all of my days are satisfied with good things, and my youth is renewed like the soaring eagle. My latter days shall be greater than my former days. I am no longer living in the bondage of my past. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Instead of shame and dishonor, I will enjoy a double share of honor. I have the joy of the Lord, and now that is my strength.  He gives me peace that surpasses all of my understanding. My children are even being taught of the Lord, and my nation is blessed because Jesus is Lord.
