At the end of the day, the way we give, save and spend money has a lot to do with our thinking and the matters in our souls. It's amazing just how far we will go to work overtime or save to "get" the latest gadget or thing that we desire to have in our possession.
Possessions that will have minimal value years later and with a little wear and tear will eventually need to be replaced. When we decide to work overtime, it should be for extra resources and to get and stay out of debt. And to be able to save is another great discipline too so that you can build wealth and have funds for those expectant emergencies. Yes, expectant emergencies because they will happen!
But how is your giving?
Are you giving your first and best to God, others or supporting worthy causes that are a blessing? Giving to God and others is a great way to keep your heart in check. A lack of giving especially when you have the capacity to give to God and others exposes haughtiness, a lack of trust, the strongholds of lust, selfishness, and greed. Remember that ultimately it is the LORD who has blessed you, and given you that job or business you have and the strength to fulfill your commitments and purchase things to enjoy.
Yes, you may have all of your degrees or gone through supplemental training to gain the knowledge you needed to be in the position that you are in today, but remember at the end of the day it was all God's doing behind the scene.
So throughout this week keep your heart in check by remembering God and give as you purpose in your heart to Him and others, not grudgingly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Decree It: Thank you, Father God, I remember You. Thank you for Your many blessings that You have given me. I remember earnestly that it is You who gives me the power to get wealth and increase, so that You may establish Your covenant in the earth that You have promise through me. I am blessed above all peoples in the earth by You alone to be a blessing to others.
