Set Your Love Upon God

Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].
— Psalm 91:14

To set your love upon the Lord is an act of your will. But I tell you the truth from experience, that once you desire to love God just because He is God, you will experience like never before the benefits of your salvation. And not only that as a bonus He sets you on high. High above your enemies and your troubles. Now that is good news to remember. You'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from off your paths.

Imagine that for a moment!

As I say quite often on Shift Today Radio broadcasts, "The if is in the shift!" If you'll hold on to God for your dear life, He'll get you out of any trouble that you've gotten yourself into or that others have dragged you into. As you set your love upon God, He'll also give you the best of care if you'll only get to know Him and trust in Him.

Then, because of your relationship with Him, you'll call upon Him and He won't turn you away. He will answer you, be at your side in good times and the worse of times. God has vowed to Himself to rescue you, and then throw you a big party.

He will satisfy you with long life. In Genesis 6:3 from the New Living Translation He wrote this to you, Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years."

See I told you that your "normal" lifespan will be no more than 120 years. This is why we must get our thoughts renewed and our voices activated to declare the right words, God's Words and cease from speaking death talk about ourselves and others.

So today, thank God for the love that He has for you that He demonstrated through Jesus. Jesus is Love. And it's because of Jesus that salvation is here and it’s here to stay. When you read Psalm 91, it clearly shows all the benefits for calling upon the name of the Lord as your refuge and your fortress and setting your love upon Him, and the main benefit is that you shall be saved.

Decree It: Jesus is Lord! The Lord is my refuge and my fortress in Him do I trust. I set my love upon Him alone and He will rescue me and cause me to prosper and have victory. Hallelujah!
