A Reserved Rest

So there remains [full and complete] Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has once entered His rest has also rested from [the weariness and pain of] his [human] labors, just as God rested from [those labors uniquely] His own.
— Hebrews 4:9-11

There is a reserved rest that still remains today for you and Believers around the world. This is good news! God has promised to give His rest to those who will believe Him. So how does a Believer receive and enter into the reserved rest that God provides? By hearing the gospel preached on rest and mix their faith with actions by personally trusting and confidently relying on Him.

God wants each of us to rest while we accomplish His will. He does not want us to work for rest, Jesus has already worked for us to obtain the promise of rest. When we don't include God in our daily affairs, instead we’re trying to do everything on our own and in our own strength we get frustrated and drain ourselves.

Rest is the opposite of reasoning, being full of all of our cares and having anxiety attacks. When we trust in the Lord and lean not on our own ways we are demonstrating faith in God. Partnering with God assures us of His promised rest and inner peace. By grace through faith and our relationship with Jesus, we can access our reserved rest so we can do everything God is calling us to do throughout our lives. Let us make every effort today to enter that reserved rest of God that Jesus left for us.

Decree It: Today I make a decision to enter into the rest that Jesus left for me. I cease from trying to do things on my own that God is calling me to do. I have the Holy Spirit within me to help me accomplish God's will. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me His strength. I am at peace because I have His peace within me forever.
