Do you desire to be well and wise in your latter days? Then hear the counsel of the Lord and receive His instructions. The Word of God will stand forever. I am reminded of King Solomon son of King David who established himself firmly over his kingdom, for the Lord his God was with him and he became exceedingly great.
One night in particularly Solomon had a visitation from God and He appeared saying to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” I could just imagine all the things that he could have requested. And look at his response, “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” God was so pleased with the request that He granted it, along with great riches and power.
I would consider Solomon counted among the wise. The scriptures tell us that he was the wisest men that ever lived. He was also one of the most foolish too.
I have said many times on our Shift Today segments that a Proverbs a day keeps the foolishness away. Proverbs is just plain ole' wisdom and taking hold of these ancient truths can offer us the right solutions for the problems we face.
Stand up today and be one counted among the wise. Even James the brother of Jesus tells us that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to us. Challenge yourself the next time you are facing a problem, go fishing for godly counsel from the Word of God in Proverbs. Sit at the feet of Solomon and let him teach you a few life lessons and be counted among the wise.
Decree It: I have ears to hear the counsel of God. I accept discipline and I too am one counted among the wise.
