Stumble No More

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.
— Proverbs 29:18

Have you ever stumbled around in the dark in the middle of the night or some early mornings because the lights were out? Everything appears dim and blurry and you know where you want to go or what you are reaching for, but it just seems out of reach. And then you turn on the lights and voila...there it is right at arms reach.

I have been ready many times to accomplish the will of God and didn't have a clear vision. The key to this post is to attend to what God is revealing. And when we don't, we perish and stumble all over ourselves. Vision is the key to any plans that we desire to accomplish with good results. There are a few other synonyms for the word vision that I would like to present to you. Check out these words...thoughts, concepts, ideas, imaginations, and prophecy.

We were made to see physically and spiritually. Helen Keller once said,"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision." Our imaginations are formed by words and images. Many times we have been discouraged and wounded by the words of others that have opened up the doors for poor self-images of ourselves and others. This hinders us from seeing things and people the way God sees.

It is to our advantage to hear the Words of God and see the Word of God so that faith can arise within us. We can't proceed to anything until we are able to see clearly. We can't change what we don't confront or choose to see. We may attempt to overlook our situations, but they will still be there until we get a clear view of what God is doing so that we don't stumble all over ourselves.

The Word of Lord came to the prophet Jeremiah. Keep in mind that words form images and then images form words. God will always touch the thing He appoints us to do with Him. He touched Jeremiah's mouth to confirm that He had been called to be a prophet to the nations. And then He asked Him, what do you see?

God is asking you to do what He did from the beginning. He imagined His family and our future that He wanted, He put a lot of thought into it, wrote it out, spoke it out and it came to pass. God gives you vision so that you and I will know what to say, “Yes” to and what to say “No” to as well. He also told the complaining prophet Habakkuk 2:2-4 from The Message Bible, “And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run.” This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on the way. It will come right on time. The vision will come right on time because our God is right on time.

Decree It: I can see! The Word of God is my only solid source for the visions for every area of my life and marriage. I can hear God's voice when He speaks to me. I see me hearing and responding to Him. I see me whole and well. I see me debt free and owing no man nothing but the debt of love. I see my children being taught and mentored by the Lord. I see angels ministering on my behalf. I am what God sees, I can have what God sees and I choose to partner with Him to do what He sees for me. I can see!
