God is Depending On His Word

The only ones who care whether you’re good or bad are your family and friends and neighbors. God’s not dependent on your behavior.
— Job 35:8

The passage above will bring such freedom today if you receive it. Read it again.  And read it slowly one more time. God does not depend on what we do right or what we do wrong. Now this surely doesn't give us a license or permission to live sloppy lives.

God showed us His great love by sending Christ to die for us while we were still messy sinners. I don't know about you but I am so glad that God does not depend on my behavior to save me, heal and deliver me, get me back on my feet, bless me beyond my wildest dreams, so that I can in turn help others.

God has started it all for us and He will faithfully complete what He started through His Word, Jesus.  God depends upon Jesus' finished work on the cross to work in our lives. The Word of God refers to itself as a Seed and it knows how to work once it gets planted in our hearts. Our work is to be intentional about getting the Word of God and putting our faith in God. Also, it is for us to engage our free wills and receive all that God provides for us through His Word and enter into His rest.

So today, stop trying to please God by all of your works. God has already accepted you in Christ Jesus. Remember we do good because we are saved, we are not doing good to be saved. Did you catch that? Rejoice at this moment that it is by grace that you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.

Decree It: I have freedom in Jesus Christ. Thank you Father God that you do not depend on my behavior and deeds in order to bless, save, heal, deliver and set me free. In Christ Jesus alone I live, move and have my being.
