The Distinguishing Marks

And the Lord said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest [by bringing you and the people into the promised land].
— Exodus 33:14

We are the people of God, and it is His responsibility to bring us into the promised land. God's presence and rest are marks that distinguish each of us among common and uncommon men and women. By these two distinguishing marks, you and I will know when to move along in the direction that He is showing and leading us.

As we follow God, we are filling our hopes with faith, and pursuing His aspirations, and dreams that come from Him. Others will also take note that there is something different about you and me in our households, on our jobs, around our communities and even in our community worship experiences.

God wants to use you!

He is not a respecter of persons, but He is a respecter of those who respects Him and His principles and ways. When you respect God, you are showing Him honor. One of the ways that you show God honor is to let Him lead you. God's presence is the Holy Spirit, and those who are sons and daughters of God are led by the Spirit of God and never driven by Him. It is God's will to lead you. God will go as far and wide as you are willing to follow His precepts and leadership.

In Moses' conversation with God, he asked, "How else will it be known that you're with me in this, with your people and me? Are you traveling with us or not? How else will we know that we're special, I and your people, among all the other people on this planet Earth?" Today I want to remind you of God's response that He spoke to Moses. This is His response to you today. You can be assured of this, “I will do what you have asked because I am your friend and I am pleased with you.”

God is your friend, and He is pleased with you.

God said in Deuteronomy 28 that everything your hand's touch would be a blessing. In other words, you shall succeed. God is with you, now move on as you follow His dreams in your heart.

Decree It: God's presence is with me wherever I go today. I receive the rest that He provides for me as I take hold of His promises concerning my situation. I am God's friend, and He is pleased with me.
