“Your old sin-loving nature was buried with him by baptism when he died; and when God the Father, with glorious power, brought him back to life again, you were given his wonderful new life to enjoy.”

Water baptism is a powerful public declaration of your inward commitment that you made in your heart to follow Jesus Christ. Being baptized is one of the first instructions that God gives to believers. Jesus himself was baptized in the Jordan River and commanded that his disciples to, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Baptism has many significant applications: First, it is a part of your spiritual growth; secondly, it identifies you with Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection; thirdly, immersion into the water symbolizes the death and burial of the old life, behaviors, and sins; and lastly, the resurrection or coming out of the water represents your new life in Christ as a redeemed sinner now living by the Word of God and the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
If you have never had the opportunity to celebrate your new resurrected life in Christ through water baptism, this is your next step. At Shift Today Ministries, we encourage believers to get baptized as a response to all that God has accomplished for them through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Sign-up today!
