Faith Made Simple
Next Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The Devil was ready to give it. Jesus prepared for the Test by fasting forty days and forty nights. That left him, of course, in a state of extreme hunger, which the Devil took advantage of in the first test: “Since you are God’s Son, speak the word that will turn these stones into loaves of bread.” Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.” Matthew 4:1-4 The Message
God’s word is Seed. And every Seed will meet your need and counterattack the enemy’s plans to steal, kill and destroy your life, marriage, money, health, mind, relationships and your emotional well being. Jesus is the Seed, God’s word manifested flesh and dwelling among you. He was made alive by the Spirit of God. And those who are born again by the Holy Spirit are born not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible Seed, by the living and abiding word of God continue in the faith.
So what is faith?
Faith proves the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is an aggressive force to be reckoned with. Hebrews 11:1-2
Where does faith come from?
Faith is the currency in the Kingdom of God and it is a free gift that comes from God. Faith is an instrument or the vehicle that God uses to bring deliverance, protection, salvation, healing, preservation, soundness of mind and complete wellness to all his people. Romans 12:3 Hebrews 12:2
Who does faith belong to?
Whosoever chooses faith! God imparts His faith into people. Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ will not be disgraced or disappointed. Romans 10:11 Ephesians 2:8
How do you get faith, the God kind of faith?
The God kind of faith is activated by hearing the word of God and taking actions from what you have heard. The bible clearly says, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ”. It is the Word of God that produces faith. This is why the great commission to go and share the good news about Jesus Christ and his finished works is crucial, so faith can come and they too can get in on God’s goodness and receive the blessing that empowers them to receive God’s blessings. Matthew 28:19-20 Romans 10:17
What can faith produce for you?
Faith overcomes any and everything in this world’s system that you will ever face and produces endurance and victory. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Be assured that the testing of your faith through experience produces endurance leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace. James 1:3 1 John 5:4
What does faith see?
Faith sees way beyond all physical and natural appearances. Faith sees things not seen with the natural eye or senses. Hebrews 11:1
What does faith speak?
Those that believe, trusting God to care for them say just as it is written when the psalmist writer said, “I believe and therefore I speak”. Faith has its own universal language no matter where you were born in the world. Faith speaks what is believed and received only from the word of God in spite of what is seen, sensed or heard in the natural realm. 2 Corinthians 4:13
Where does faith reside?
Faith resides in God and God resides in you, the very moment you heard and believed the good news about Jesus Christ, and confessed him as Lord. For it is by believing in your heart that you become right with God; and with your mouth you tell others of your faith, confirming your salvation. Mark 11:22 Romans 10:10 1 John 4:4
How does your faith grow?
Your faith grows the same way that it originally came to you, by hearing the word of God. In order for your faith to progressively grow you must feed yourself steadily and daily just as you do with natural food to stay alive to gain energy and strength. And when you slowly deprive yourself from eating eventually you starve and perish. Matthew 4:4 Romans 10:17
Where do you begin? Great question! Your spirit man feeds on the word of God. Everything gets its start in your mind and the more you give your attention to your thoughts it forms a desire within your heart for spiritual things. By choosing to renew your mind from God’s word, your desires will change and your corresponding actions. Now your soul, which includes your mind, will and emotions are in peace and harmony as your newly recreated spirit takes the lead.
How do you put it all together and activate your faith?
To make this illustration simpler remember the Seed is the word of God. God’s word is his will for you. So always start out with the word of God by putting it before your eyes concerning everything in your life and this will be your assurance of the things you hope for. Next use the measure of faith that God has given you. Activate and increase your measure of faith by hearing the word of God about your situation or the things that you desire. Deposit the word of God deep into your heart by steadily speaking God’s words, saying exactly what He has said from your mouth. Continue to keep saying the word of God until you are fully persuaded and receive in your heart God’s plans and purposes. Witness your faith grow in the ground of your heart as it takes completely over your situation. Proverbs 4:20-25 Job 22:28 John 14:10 Mark 11:20-25
You can have it, so get going by seeking, meditating, praying, asking, believing and receiving it with the God kind of faith. God used his faith to obtain all he wanted, and in Christ Jesus you can too. Acts 17:28
